Recently, during polishing my master thesis, I wondered which verb should I use to express that a monarch sets up a new dynasty. That is our today's word of the day: the monarch is to ESTABLISH a dynasty. Which are other things we can establish?

I'm not a big fan of sports in general, there is, however, one exception: lawn tennis. I tend to follow the tournaments and matches results on daily basis. Today on one of the tennis websites that I follow I found out that it's already been a year since the greatest Asian player of all time retired from professional tennis. Her name is Li Na, and her biggest achievements include becoming a champion of two Grand Slams: Roland Garros and Australian Open. 

If we are a sportsman or a sportwoman and we want to let others know that we retire from professional sport, we can use the idiom that happen to be our word of the day: I CALL IT A CAREER.

One of the best ways to keep in touch with our target language is starting a diary. I've been thinking about it for some time and finally decided to give it a try, however, I figured keeping online diary here, on my blog, would be much more fun than a paper diary. Of course, I will post entries in my target languages, mostly English and Chinese. Every new entry will feature a word of the day.
